So no one told you life was gonna be this way? Your job’s a joke. You’re broke. Your love life’s DOA.

It’s like you’re always stuck in second gear. And it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your year.

But, when you have people in your life who say, “I’ll be there for you,” you realize it’s not your circumstances that bring you joy, but the relationships around you.

Here’s a quick recap of what we talked in our Friends With Benefits series to help you to continue to pursue life-giving friendships that will allow you to experience all God has for you:

1. God made us for community and friendship. He made people for people to be in relationship with one another and point one another toward him.
2. We can prune relationships with toxic friends, foolish friends, and secret friends by praying for our friends, changing the atmosphere, creating distance or boundaries, and sometimes running for our lives.
3. We can pursue friendships with others by expanding our circle of friends, deepening friendships that already exist, and encouraging one another.
4. In order to pursue life-giving friendships, we have to be willing to trust others and take small steps to know and be known by others. How people respond to your joys and challenges in life should clue you in to the level you can trust them.

Next Step
