Pointing kids to a relationship with Jesus by sharing his love and inviting them to be a part of his story
Kids matter. They matter to God and they matter to us. Because of that, we want to help them win –- in their relationships at home, at school, on their teams, in their neighborhoods, and ultimately in their relationship with Jesus.
Two combined influences will make a greater impact than just two influences. When the church and family partner together, they can make a greater impact on the next generation.
This is why we are committed to coming alongside families during the week, and creating safe, irresistible, transformational environments for kids on Sundays.
We do this by providing:
For kids age three and up, we focus on teaching them these three basic truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. We work through stories and characters from the Bible to help children learn these truths. In our United Kids Elementary environment we concentrate on 3 basic truths: I need to make the wise choice (wisdom), I can trust God no matter what (faith), and I should treat others the way I want to be treated (friendship). Children learn those 3 basic truths through a different life app or big idea each month.
We have a team of leaders who serve in our United Kids environment. Small Group Leaders serve weekly, providing a consistent presence to develop relationships with parents and children to help ensure their safety and knowledge of a loving God. All volunteers are background checked and attend several ongoing volunteer trainings each year. We have biweekly volunteers, committed to providing trusted care for babies and toddlers, who serve in our room for children 2 and under.
A typical schedule for each child includes fun and games when they arrive, large group time with singing and Bible teaching, and small group time.
United is dedicated to creating safe environments for children. Upon check in you will receive two stickers, each containing a 4-digit code. One sticker will go on your child, the other you will keep. You must present your sticker that matches your child’s sticker for your child to be released to you upon pick-up. *Please note-your child can not be released to you without the corresponding sticker.
If at any point during the service your child needs your assistance, the 4-digit code you received upon check-in will appear on the screens in service.
There is a check in station located through the three sets of double doors when you enter Owings Mills High. If you are new to United, simply let one of the check-in volunteers know, and they will get you signed in. When you come back to United, you will be able to sign in on your own, using the phone number you provided to us on your first visit.
