We are a diverse community of people from all walks and stages of life that love God, love people, and are active in our community. We say we are “a church for people who don’t go to church” because we want everyone wherever they are in life and wherever they’re coming from to feel like they can bring their realest selves and not only find love and community but also an opportunity to encounter Jesus and to explore what life with Him is like.
We see in the Bible that the church is so much more than a service or weekly gathering. God created the church to be a movement of people sent with a message – the message that Jesus came to die for our sins and make us right with God. That is the best news ever. And, that’s why we exist – to help people know and follow Jesus.
Our humble prayer is that God would continue to multiply his church as we strive to bring the fullness of Jesus to our world by reflecting his heart for all people, cultivating genuine community, boldly sharing the good news about Jesus, discipling new believers, and maintaining a heart and passionate commitment to service.
VISION
GATHER
We believe in following the command in Hebrews to “not forsake gathering together,” and as a result follow the example of the early Church in gathering to hear teaching from the Bible, to sing to Jesus, to exhort and encourage one another, and to serve together.
GROW
Jesus invites us to come as we are, but He also calls us to repentance and heart change. Once we are in Him, we are a new creation, constantly being conformed to the image of Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that we are each called to grow in our walks with God individually through regular reading of the Scriptures and prayer, and by gathering together for study and discipleship.
GIVE
Everything we have comes from God – our time, our talents, and our treasure. As a result we want emulate the heart of our generous Heavenly Father and give it back to Him, giving of these things to the local Church and to the things we know God has a heart for, according to the Bible.
GO
Jesus came and died for our sins, but He didn’t stay dead. He rose again and when He rose again, He commanded His disciples to go into all the world and share the good news of the gospel with others. Therefore, as a Church, we want to live individually and corporately, on mission for Him.
BELIEFS
United is a non-denominational Christian Church.
We recognize the authority of the Christian Scriptures for our life and practice and we hold to the essential historic beliefs of the Christian Church.
We believe in the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and seek to live out his teachings in the world.
We are committed to Christian unity, so we hold to the saying: “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, love.”
We believe in asking questions. We understand that belief and faith come from seeking answers to questions about God. He is not afraid of our questions. In fact, He welcomes them. At United, we welcome them as well and would be glad to discuss any of them with you.
