Vision Sunday

What is the church known for?

What are we as individuals known for?

When Jesus rose from the dead, he had a conversation with Peter – one of his closest friends and followers who was to be the foundation of the church but had denied knowing him three times throughout his crucifixion.

Jesus found that Peter had gone back to his old way life. He asked Peter three times, “Do you love me?” and then called him back to the greater purpose he had been made for. He instructed Peter to feed his lambs – to feed the people who did not yet know Jesus and to declare the love of Jesus to them.

We are called to do the same – to receive Jesus’ love, to connect with new people, to build relationships, to be in our community, and to contribute generously to the mission of the church. We hope this message and the story of Peter helps you understand what your next step is and your part in Jesus’ story.
